Collection: K.I.S.S.

Each piece created in this series emphasizes the exploration of simplicity.

Limited colour pallets, simple composition, and minimal rendering helped to keep attention and enthusiasm during the creative process.

Drawn out by hand, scanned and rendered digitally, this series explores the juxtaposition of macabre subject matter with bright, simple and graphic aesthetics, inspired by traditional wood block printing processes.

How do we relate to the more more macabre aspects of life when it is removed from its literal representation to something more abstract?

Is it less upsetting? Is it easier to face when presented through a bright and graphic aesthetic? Or does it not do enough to deter caution and concern?
